Business Manager - 1.0 FTE
The NWRIC special education cooperative is seeking a full-time Business Manager to oversee financial operations and ensure sound fiscal management and compliance with state and federal requirements.  Responsibilities include budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and maintaining general ledgers.  This position ensures accurate reporting through the proper use of UFARS codes and the establishment of accounting practices.  The Business Manager works closely with school leadership to support responsible financial planning and accountability.  

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  2. Knowledge of education finance laws, regulations, and best practices.
  3. Strong financial analysis and budget management skills.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in financial software and tools.
  6. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  7. Knowledge of human resources and payroll processes.​

This is a full-time position working 195 days per the NWRIC school calendar.  Training will be provided. 

Behavior Support Specialist - 1.0 FTE
The Behavior Support Specialist is responsible for providing support to special education staff in meeting the needs of students with behavioral challenges.  This role emphasizes the application of evidence-based strategies to implement effective behavior interventions tailored to individual student needs.  The Behavior Support Specialist collaborates closely with the Educational Consultant to promote positive student outcomes.

Roles/Responsibilities:
1.  Collaborate with special education staff, general education teachers, school social workers, school psychologists, and administrators to support student success.

2.  Provide Student Behavioral Support: 
  • Observe students in classroom and school environments to assess behavioral patterns, triggers, and environmental factors.
  • Develop and assist in implementing evidence-based behavior intervention plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide direct behavioral consultation and modeling to staff working with students exhibiting behavioral challenges.
  • Support the consistent implementation of positive behavior support strategies, de-escalation techniques, and proactive classroom management practices.
  • Monitor fidelity of behavior plan implementation and recommend adjustments based on data and team feedback.
  • Participate in Eval/IEP meetings, student support team meetings, and behavior planning meetings as needed.

3.  Develop training materials and resources to support staff learning and implementation of 
behavioral supports.  Provide training and coaching to teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff on topics such as behavior intervention, crisis prevention, and positive behavioral supports.

Qualifications:
  • Hold a valid Minnesota license as a school psychologist, school social worker, or school counselor.
  • Previous experience, knowledge, and training in special education and positive behavior intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize activities, communicate ideas both verbally and in writing, and maintain positive professional working relationships with others.  
  • Ability to self-direct and initiate work independently, while working collaboratively as a member of team(s).
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize technology to support job responsibilities. 
  • Ability to transport oneself between NWRIC member districts. 

Educational Consultant/Due Process Facilitator - 1.0 FTE
The Educational Consultant/Due Process Facilitator is responsible for providing direct and indirect consultation to special education staff in the areas of positive behavior intervention strategies/student programming and special education due process procedures.

Roles/Responsibilities:
Educational Consultation:
  1. Provide consultation and coaching to school staff (i.e., teachers, paraprofessionals, administration, and other support services staff) regarding the implementation of evidence-based practices for student success, including but not limited to academic, social-emotional, and positive behavior interventions.  
  2. In collaboration with the school team, provide a comprehensive approach to behavior management that includes evaluation, data collection, interventions, and regular monitoring to improve student behavior outcomes. 
  3. Attend student IEP meetings as the licensed teacher for primary disability categories as needed. 
Due Process Facilitation:
  1. Provide direct and indirect consultation to Special Education staff for compliance with all due process timelines and procedures related to special education evaluation and Individual Education Plans (IEPs). 
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge in special education law, SpEd Forms utilization, and evaluation tools and administration.
Qualifications:
  1. Hold a valid Minnesota special education teaching license.  Preference for multiple special education licensures (i.e., ABS/ASD, DCD, PI, TBI, EBD). 
  2. Previous experience, knowledge, and training in special education due process and positive intervention strategies.
  3. Ability to quickly establish rapport with a wide range of students. 
  4. Experience as a special education teacher across ages/grade levels with case management and due process responsibilities is preferred. Experience in a leadership capacity is additionally preferred.  
  5. Demonstrated ability to organize activities, communicate ideas both verbally and in writing, and maintain positive professional working relationships with others.  
  6. Ability to transport self between NWRIC member districts. 

Occupational Therapist (OT)
School-based Occupational Therapist to be assigned to NWRIC member district schools.  Using a collaborative model, school based occupational therapists address the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and sensory components of student performance.
